Corrections and right of reply
We work to publish accurate news and data. When we get something wrong, we fix it openly. This page explains how Panen77 News corrects errors and handles the right of reply, guided by Indonesia's Law No. 40 of 1999 on the Press, the Journalistic Code of Ethics, the Press Council's Right of Reply Guidelines, and point 4 of the Cyber Media Reporting Guidelines.
Corrections and right of reply
- A correction fixes inaccurate information, data, facts, quotes, opinions, or images in our content. Anyone can request a correction, whether it concerns themselves or someone else, and we also correct errors we find ourselves.
- The right of reply is the right of a person or group to respond to or refute reported facts that damage their reputation.
How to make a request
Email support@panen77.news with the subject "Correction" or "Right of Reply", and include:
- A link to the article or page.
- The part you believe is wrong or damaging, and why.
- Any supporting data, documents, or sources.
- Your name and contact details. For a right of reply, also explain your connection to the story, for example whether you are the person reported on or their representative.
For a right of reply, also include the response or rebuttal you would like published.
What we do
- We reply to your email within 2 x 24 hours of receiving it.
- We check your request against our sources and data.
- If we made an error, we correct it as quickly as possible.
- A valid right of reply is published proportionately, either in the same article or as a separate article linked to the original story.
- If we find no error, or the request does not qualify, we tell you why. If you disagree, reply to our email with more information and the newsroom will review it again.
How corrections are shown
- Corrections and replies appear in, or are linked from, the article concerned, together with the time they were published, in this format: Correction (date, time WIB): a short note on what was corrected.
- Minor errors that do not change the meaning, such as typos, may be fixed without a correction note.
- If an article is available in both Indonesian and English, we correct both versions.
- Scores, fixtures, standings, and statistics update automatically from our data provider. If the data is wrong, let us know so that we can check it.
Withdrawal of stories
We do not withdraw published stories because of requests or pressure from outside the newsroom. In line with point 5 of the Cyber Media Reporting Guidelines, a story is only withdrawn for reasons related to SARA (ethnicity, religion, race, and inter-group relations), decency, a child's future, a victim's traumatic experience, or other special considerations determined by the Press Council. Every withdrawal is announced to the public with the reason.
Reader comments
We act on reports about comments that break our rules within 2 x 24 hours of receiving them. How to report a comment is explained in our Editorial policy.
