Indonesia U-15 Exit the FIFA U-15 World Cup After a 6-1 Defeat to Luxembourg
Indonesia U-15 are out of the FIFA U-15 World Cup & Festival 2026 after a 6-1 quarter-final defeat to Luxembourg in Tier C. Full results recap.

The Indonesia U-15 campaign at the FIFA U-15 World Cup & Festival 2026 has ended in the Tier C quarter-finals. The young Garuda side were beaten 6-1 by Luxembourg on Thursday, 29 October 2026.
Indonesia U-15 Had Looked Impressive
The result was especially painful because Indonesia had played so well in the previous round. In the round of 16, the young Red and White side won a thrilling game 5-3 against Panama and raised hopes of going further.
In the quarter-final, however, Luxembourg were far more clinical. The Indonesia U-15 side struggled to contain their opponents' attacks and could only score one goal in reply.
Up-and-Down Form Throughout the Tournament
Indonesia's form was mixed across the tournament. They enjoyed big wins, beating Fiji 7-1 and Burundi 6-1, and also beat Moldova on penalties.
On the other hand, they lost 3-0 to Wales, narrowly lost 2-1 to Portugal and drew 1-1 with Bangladesh. The results show great potential, but also that consistency still needs work.
Indonesia U-15 Results Recap
- Indonesia 7-1 Fiji
- Indonesia 0-3 Wales
- Indonesia 1-1 Bangladesh
- Indonesia 1-2 Portugal
- Indonesia 6-1 Burundi
- Indonesia vs Moldova (won on penalties)
- Indonesia 5-3 Panama (round of 16)
- Indonesia 1-6 Luxembourg (quarter-final)
In total, the team scored more than 20 goals during the tournament. That shows the attack was productive, even if the defence needs plenty of work before the next competition.
Valuable Experience for the Future
Despite the exit, facing opponents from different continents is seen as hugely valuable for the development of Indonesia's young players. They now have first-hand experience of the level of youth football around the world. Official tournament information is available on the FIFA website.
Player development is key to sustained success at every level. At senior level, the national team is preparing for the FIFA Matchday November 2026 window and could soon be boosted by the Taisei Marukawa naturalisation.
