Editorial policy
This page explains the standards the Panen77 News newsroom follows when preparing, publishing, and updating content. We are guided by Indonesia's Law No. 40 of 1999 on the Press, the Journalistic Code of Ethics, and the Press Council's Cyber Media Reporting Guidelines.
Newsroom
Panen77 News content is prepared and edited by the Panen77 News editorial team and published under the team's name. The newsroom is responsible for all published content, including content prepared with the help of automated tools or artificial intelligence (AI).
Independence
- The newsroom alone decides what to cover and how to cover it, without interference from advertisers, partners, or the people and organizations we report on.
- We do not accept payment or favours of any kind to publish, change, or remove a story.
- Promotions and paid content are always kept separate from editorial content (see Promotions and paid content below).
Accuracy and verification
- We verify every story before publishing it. We prioritize primary sources: official statements and releases from clubs, federations, leagues, and competition organizers, press conferences, and match data.
- When we use information from other media, we name and link to the source.
- When a story may harm someone, we ask them for a response and include it in the same story.
- When there is an urgent public interest but confirmation is not yet possible, we follow point 2 of the Cyber Media Reporting Guidelines: the story notes that verification is still in progress, and the result is published as an update linked to the original story.
- We report rumours, including unconfirmed transfer news, as rumours with their sources, and never present them as fact.
- We avoid anonymous sources. We only use an unnamed source when the information matters to the public, cannot be obtained elsewhere, and the newsroom knows who the source is.
Content types and labels
To help readers tell facts from opinions, articles other than straight news carry a label above the headline:
- Analysis: the newsroom's assessment based on data and facts, such as match previews and predictions.
- Opinion: the author's personal view, which does not necessarily reflect the newsroom's position.
- Review: an assessment of a match, a performance, or an event.
- Guide: an explanation of how something works, such as a competition format.
- Interview: a question-and-answer piece with a source.
- List: a roundup in list form, such as today's match schedule.
- Live: live coverage that is updated while an event is under way.
Every article shows its publication date and time. If we update an article after the day it was published, the update date is shown as well.
Match data and predictions
- Scores, fixtures, standings, lineups, and statistics come from the sports data provider API-Football and update automatically. If you spot incorrect data, please let us know.
- The win probabilities on the Predictions page are calculated automatically from statistics. Predictions are not guaranteed outcomes and are not betting advice.
- Match previews and predictions written by the newsroom are labelled Analysis.
Use of artificial intelligence (AI)
We follow the Press Council's Guidelines on the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Journalistic Work (Press Council Regulation No. 1/Peraturan-DP/I/2025):
- We may use AI to help the newsroom, for example to translate, summarize match data, or draft text. AI supports the newsroom; it does not replace it.
- Content prepared with the help of AI stays under the newsroom's control from start to finish. Facts, names, figures, and quotes are checked before publication, and the newsroom takes full responsibility for the content.
- Where AI significantly shapes an article, we say so clearly in that article.
- AI-generated images, illustrations, and audio are labelled as such. We do not create AI images or audio that imitate real people without their consent.
- We are open about edits and corrections to AI-assisted content, in line with our Corrections and right of reply policy.
Two languages
Some articles are available in both Indonesian and English. The second version is a translation or adaptation by the newsroom, held to the same standards. A correction made to one version is also applied to the other.
Promotions and paid content
- Promotions are displayed separately from editorial content and are always labelled Promotion.
- Paid or sponsored articles, if any, are clearly labelled, for example "Advertorial" or "Sponsored", and are never presented as news.
- Advertisers cannot influence news content.
Reader comments
- We review comments before they appear. The rules are in our Terms and conditions.
- Comments containing lies, slander, sadism, obscenity, hatred based on ethnicity, religion, race, or group (SARA), incitement to violence, or discrimination are not published, or are edited or removed.
- To report a comment, send the article link, the commenter's name, and your reason to support@panen77.news. We act on reports within 2 x 24 hours of receiving them, in line with point 3 of the Cyber Media Reporting Guidelines.
Corrections, right of reply, and withdrawals
- We correct errors as quickly as possible. Corrections are noted in the same article, with the time of the correction and what was changed. How to request a correction or exercise your right of reply is explained on our Corrections and right of reply page.
- We do not withdraw published stories because of requests or pressure from outside the newsroom. A story is only withdrawn for the reasons set out in point 5 of the Cyber Media Reporting Guidelines, and every withdrawal is announced to the public with the reason.
Copyright
We respect copyright. We only use photos, videos, graphics, and quotes from others when we have the right to do so, and we credit the source. If you own the copyright to a work you believe we have used without permission, please contact us.
Privacy and protection of children
In line with the Journalistic Code of Ethics, we do not identify victims of sexual crimes or children who commit crimes. How we handle readers' personal data is explained in our Privacy policy.
