Arema vs Bali United 1-3: Bali United Win at Kanjuruhan as Ten-Man Arema Fall

Two Quick Goals Before Half-Time

Bali United broke the deadlock in the 40th minute. Marko Dugandzic finished off a pass from Irfan Jaya to put the visitors ahead.

Five minutes later, Irfan Jaya got his own name on the scoresheet. His goal in the 45th minute gave Bali United a 2-0 lead at the break.

Yachida Extends the Lead as Arema Go Down to Ten

Bali United kept up the pressure after the restart. Teppei Yachida made it 3-0 in the 67th minute after a pass from Kadek Agung.

Things got even harder for Arema when A. Dewangga was sent off in the 74th minute. Despite playing with ten men, the hosts pulled one back through Careca in the 79th minute.

Arema Fail to Build on Their Momentum

The result is a surprise. Arema came into the game full of confidence after a 4-0 win over Dewa United last weekend under interim coach Andre Caldas.

Bali United, on the other hand, arrived with a poor away record. Johnny Jansen's side had not won an away game in the BRI Super League this season before the trip to Malang, making this their first away win of the campaign.

What Arema vs Bali United Means for the Table

Before kick-off, Bali United were third with 13 points and Arema were 11th with 9 points. The three points take Bali United to 16 points and up to second place, at least until Dewa United vs Persija is played tonight.
