Giannis Antetokounmpo Posts a Triple-Double as the Heat Crush the Pacers 145-125 in the NBA Cup

Giannis Antetokounmpo Records His Second Triple-Double of the Season

Giannis finished with 31 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists. It was his second triple-double of the season and gave the Heat their second straight win.

According to the NBA, Giannis also became the first Heat player to record at least 30 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists while shooting better than 70 percent in a single game.

Adebayo and Klay Thompson Join the Party

Giannis had plenty of help. Bam Adebayo added 27 points on 11-of-14 shooting. Klay Thompson scored 25 points with seven three-pointers, his best game since joining Miami.

Thompson is now 55 threes away from matching Ray Allen (2,973) for third on the NBA's all-time three-point list. Pelle Larsson chipped in 18 points, while Davion Mitchell posted a double-double of 15 points and 11 assists.

The Pacers actually started well, scoring 42 points in the first quarter. The Heat turned it around by outscoring them 67-46 across the second and third quarters.

Short-Handed Pacers

Indiana had only 11 players available. Tyrese Haliburton is out for at least a couple of weeks with a hamstring strain, and Obi Toppin sat out after his back gave out before shootaround. Head coach Rick Carlisle was also absent for his father's funeral, so Lloyd Pierce led the team from the sideline.

Quenton Jackson led the Pacers with 24 points, followed by Andrew Nembhard with 22.

Next up, the Heat visit the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday, while the Pacers host the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday. Full stats are on the official NBA website.
